Random P.S.

I love, love, love my new Mac!

Special shout out to Ryan for helping a cousin out. Even when said cousin's only problem was her sheer stupidity :)

The Jerk at Math table 2060

Yesterday I spent an hour or two at the math lab. I had a few questions about my take home quiz you see. Sadly my questions were of the 7th grade pre-algebra variety.

Like.......how do you factor again? About fractions....what are the rules? And really a million more, arguably dumb ones. I was down to the last problem (and therefore last question). But just couldn't put the flag up on my math 1050 table due to the "jerk" at math table 2060. Mr. big time math smarty pants, progressed from smirking at my first few questions to an out right guffaw (yes I did say guffaw) at my last.

I mean seriously dude....not all of us can be math geniuses. Can't you cut us poor re-entry students a break? Sheesh!

Finally

I have 2 seconds to rub together for a post. Work has been mighty busy and since school has ramped up in earnest I have been mucho swamped.

But I thought I'd post a quick blog and let you all know what I've been up to. This week on Tuesday Megan Walker and I took a trip up to Salt Lake City to go to the temple. I have been to numerous weddings/sealings there but have never actually attended a session. I had forgotten how much I love the Salt Lake Temple. Just seeing all the beautiful handcrafted work that our pioneer ancestors put into it made me just feel so, so grateful for our legacy. Not to mention of course the peace that temple attendance itself brings.

The other happenings of the week. I finally bought that little Macbook I've had my eye on for awhile. Since my math class started this week and the course textbook is not a textbook at all, but a set of 4 CD's from which you watch lessons and do homework online, I decided it was time to invest in my own computer. It's currently winging it's way to me and I can hardly wait to get it and then to have all the Mac experts out there teach me how to use it. As I have been sadly PC-ized and don't know all the cool functions and shortcuts.

Adventures in Babysitting

This weekend I will have the distinct pleasure of playing babysitter to the baby Jackson as his parents will be at youth conference.

I'm looking forward to getting to spend the weekend with the little darling. I'll be sure to put up a post of all the fun things we did together (I know there will be much to report!)

Also as a shout out to my own niece Canyon- Sydnee entered her into the Orem Summerfest baby contest. The contest is tomorrow morning and I want to wish her luck. I think she is ridiculously adorable but now we will see what a panel of judges have to say on the matter.

Happy Monday

Update from the weekend. The wedding was fabulous! It was so good to see the Hendrix cousins and I'm very happy for the bride and groom.

After the wedding Lex, Syd and I went to Barnes and Noble. I don't know if I'm the only one here but I can spend hours browsing in that store (we did too). It was a delight and I came away with a few gems I'm excited about reading.

B&N was followed by Mimi's Cafe where I enjoyed some delightful spinach tortellini.

Sunday was the usual delights capped off with some delicious Mint Chocolate Chip ice cream cake in honor of C. Robert Daniels finishing 12th in a triathalon he competed in this weekend. All in all it was a very fun weekend.

But now I look forward to a very happy reunion with the Arnett's. Jeff, Pam and Chad arrive this evening. I'll be glad to spend some time with Chad as he will sorely be missed whilst off to Germany for the 2 years. Also the Auntie Kathleen arrives this evening and I can't wait to have her back from Moscow permanently (HOORAY!!).

Oh the delights soon to be had :)

Home again, Home again Jigity Jig

Welcome home to Sister Megs! Last night was such a fun time. The entire Walker and Arnold families, Dana, Syd and I all went to Shoots for some Friday night eats. Since Lexi was our server it was as if she was there too.

Megs looks lovely and she is a delight (as always) to be around. I have certainly missed her these past 18 months that she has been away in Canada.

Next to come home will be the Auntie Kathleen. I will spend today getting her basement in tip top shape so that she can be welcomed home with sparkling floors and bathrooms. I can not wait to see her :)

Also on tap for today is the wedding of my Uncle Ken to the lovely and talented Jeannette. We are most excited to welcome her to our family. And I want to take this opportunity to wish them joy.

I'll be sure to post some pics of the event later.
