Sun, Sand and Sea

Penelope, Lacy and I are headed out to California tomorrow morning for the Labor Day Weekend. We'll be flying down to Sunny San Diego and spending a few relaxing days in old town, on the beach and anywhere else that strikes our fancy.

I'm reading for some maxin' and relaxin' with two of my favorite gals.

It's A No Go

Just heard from Jenny (owner of the townhome) she couldn't have been nicer but alas she had some last minute friends and friends of friends who she is giving the spots to.

So what can you do. I'll just keep looking and trust that for whatever reason this was not the right place at the right time for me.

And the Verdict Is.........

I have been looking for a place to move out to for quite awhile now (since May really). I've looked lots of places and nothing "felt" quite right. It's really important to me that this be the right move for me right now.

I stumbled across a listing for a town home in American Fork at the Haymaker development. I and apparently a million other women from around the valley were interested in said town home and so the owner had an open house of sorts yesterday.

It was a most interesting experience. I was in essence being interviewed for one of the 3 available rooms. Turns out I really want to live here. It's beautiful just minutes from the temple and has some really nice amenities. So keep you fingers crossed for me. I find out this evening whether or not I made the cut!

Tip: If I avert my eyes I don't want to see

Today I went into the Utah Wellness Clinic to get some blood drawn. Getting blood drawn is never my favorite thing at any time. This time I had been fasting for 12 hours and they needed to get 4 vials. Obviously given the afore mentioned I was not looking forward to this visit.

When I got the the phlebotomist she strapped my arm up for maximum blood suckage. I told her not to be offended but I was going to look away as my own blood sometimes makes me queasy. She said it was not a problem.

She's taking the blood from my left side and so I am looking to the right. She gets the needle in (actually not as bad as normal as she got it in on the first try and normally it takes them about three) and I'm still looking away when suddenly the first vial of blood drawn from my body lands on the counter right in front of where my head is turned to.

Let's just say that I passed out for a moment. Um hello what part of "I am going to look away as the sight of my own blood sometimes makes me queasy."

The Big Debate

Stumbled across this little gem on MSN's website. It's worth taking a gander. Funny, funny stuff. I especially enjoyed the Posh and Zac Ephron Debates!

Enjoy! The Big Debate

Some Happenings of This Weekend

This weekend brought us fun time courtesy of the Bennett's. Their baby Mason is such a delight as are Steph and Jake. Wish they could have stayed longer.

Sidenote: I have a soft spot in my heart for Miss Mandy Moore. I purchased Wild Hope, her new album on Thursday night and frankly I am adoring it! Thanks to D for inspiring me with her post of MM's cover of Umbrella to check out this amazing new album.

Friday Devry and I hung out and watched a little bit of High School Musical 2. I must say I enjoyed it in all it's glorious cheesy-ness. I saw the first one and thought it was adorable high school aged fun and this one was the same. As Mallory and I discussed last night, I now plan on singing my next breakup. I think it will make it so much more effective.

Saturday The Bennett's, Brijs's one DelHoyo and 2 Arnett's (Kathy and Myself) went to dinner and the Bourne Ultimatum. I enjoyed it, shaky camera action aside. It was fast paced and enough action for anyone's taste. Plus it's just fun to watch a character that's just indestructible. My hat is right off to the choreographer of all the action sequences, fights and chase scenes. They were a lot of fun.

Girls Aloud

Speaking of girl bands that no one has ever heard of. You know how I can't resist an upbeat dance number to add to my workout mix. This little band hails from the UK where apparently they are HUGE. I guess I was waxing nostalgic for the old UK and I looked them up on Itunes where I discovered this little gem, Something Kinda Ooooh

Don't be scared if you have never heard of this band. They really haven't made it across the pond. Although Jesse Metcalfe's former and maybe current girlfriend is a member. Jesse has done all he can to get us to care but sadly (for him) the American public just doesn't.

Finished

Finished my final. 100 % on how it went.

Given that I haven't taken any math in over 10 years and that I chose to take this class in 6 weeks instead of 12, I'm feeling pretty good about my performance.

Passing it with a C......could be out of my reach but I know if I have to retake it and I do it in a normal semester instead of shortened that I can do it.

Mostly it just feels good to have gotten re-enrolled and to be working towards something.

Finally Finals

Tonight is my last final of the semester. And yes I'm freaking out just a wee bit. I took my health final on Wednesday evening. I thought that I had until Saturday to take it, but after reviewing the syllabus turns out that Tuesday was the last day to take the final. So I only got an 84% on the final but I'm taking that score with gratitude. Hopefully it won't bring me to far down overall.

Tonight is the Math final (hence the freaking outedness). I'm as prepared as I can be so I need to just be good with that.

Updates and Highlights:

Update: FINALLY got my copy of Eclipse. Ok, ok I actually got it on Wednesday afternoon. But it's like a frenzy here over this book. I heard the guy on the phone at Borders say to someone, "yes, we have quite a few copies of Eclipse.....around 300. I would imagine they would last another 30 minutes to an hour." Like I said......Frenzy.

Highlight: Just got an email from Devry asking me if I minded picking her up from the airport tomorrow night. Hmm let me check my schedule..........Hello!?!?! Obviously I will be going to get her. I'm just thrilled she is coming, can't wait to see her. I've missed her lots and lots since I last saw her in January!

Can't Talk......Reading

This has been an amazing summer for book lovers. First HP7 and Now Eclipse. Hello!?!?!? I need a vampire to love me......asap.

Now sadly I failed to pre-order my copy unlike my, apparently smarter than me, younger sister Lex. I went out this afternoon at lunch to try and score myself a copy to no avail.

Never fear for I will be as tenacious as a Quileute werewolve (who doesn't love a gratuitous Twilight reference) in tracking my prey. A copy will be mine, oh yes it will be mine.

Recap and Random Musings

This week is the last week of the semester. I really think I bit off a bit more than I could chew. Who thought it would be a good idea to take a Math class and cram it into six weeks instead of the full sememster? I haven't had 2 seconds to rub together for myself since I started.

I am really looking forward to having some free time after my finals on Friday.

That said we had such a fun time in Bear Lake this weekend. Kathleen and Jaxson ended up going with us and if I do say so myself we made "such a merry party" on our way to and fro.

The party island was in full effect and the lake was beautiful and relaxing as always. I also got my first glimpse of sweet, sweet Mason Bennett who is such a darling. It was a fun and relaxing weekend as I knew it would be.

On the way home however the trip took a bit of a turn as Joseph got carsick in Logan canyon and his mother improvised by using her diaper bag as a barf bag. It took another 15 minutes to get out of the canyon by which time the bag had started to leak a bit and had gotten on her jeans.

They don't exactly advertise these sorts of incidents as the joys of motherhood do they?

So now it's back to work and back to school. Next event to look forward to is when the Bennett's make a trip down to see us in two weeks.

Bring on the Bear Lake

We leave tonight after I take my math test (yuck!). For the ever fabulous Portela family at Bear Lake. We will be celebrating Steph and Dana's birthday, blessing baby mason and in general having much fun in the bear lake sun.

It will just be Dana, Joseph and myself as Ryan is valiantly getting the Brijs family all moved in to their new pad (which btw I've seen and it is a complete delight!).

Anywhoo..........I'm really looking forward to seeing everyone and for a nice relaxing weekend!
